Prayers for Shane Michael Haley
Shane Michael Haley came into the world very early this morning and was here with his parents and family for just four short hours. Yet, Shane has had an impact that will go on for a long time. When Shane’s Mother was just three months pregnant, they found out that Shane had anencephaly, a serious birth defect in which a baby is born without parts of the brain and skull and after birth the babies who are born with this, just live for a few hours.
Shane’s parents, Jenna and Dan Haley decided to choose life and continue with the pregnancy. In todays world they are the exception and not the norm. What they did next has had an impact on so many people. They created a bucket list for their Son, so they would be able to make the most of the time they had with him. They wanted to make lasting memories with their son. There was things like, trip to the beach, sports games, pumpkin picking, shrine tours etc.. on the list and one by one they did them.
This simple act of choosing life has left a ripple affect. Their facebook page has had over 800,000 likes. We will never know the full impact of choosing life and sharing their decision with so many of us. I ask that we keep Shane and his parents in our prayers as well as family and friends. I also ask that we pray for those who are faced with making the same decision as the Haley Family for the strength to choose life.
