My Hope is in You

My Hope is in You

by Aaron Shust

I heard this song tonight as I was thinking and praying about what has been going on in my life lately. The first line of the song says “ I meet with You and my soul sings out”. I love that idea of meeting with God. To me it reminds me of when I meet with a friend. We sit down talk, laugh, share and the hours just pass by as it was just minutes. That is how the retreat felt like a few weeks ago. That time that I spent just sitting and meeting with God or Jesus seemed to be just a few minutes. Yet, it left me with peace and a calmness of my soul.

That calmness is just about gone as the world has taken more of a toll and I have to turn off the world again just for a little while so I may be refreshed in the light of God and Jesus. I have to learn to turn more to God and use Him as my refuge. It is not enough to just talk and ask for guidance but to just sit in His presence and relax my soul.

I have included the video and the lyrics below. I hope that the song will speak to you as it has me.

Until tomorrow, God Bless, and may your soul sing out “ Hallelujah, Father, You’re here!”

"My Hope Is In You"

I meet with You and my soul sings out
As your word throws doubt far away
I sing to You and my heart cries
"Holy! Hallelujah, Father, You're near!"

My hope is in You, Lord
All the day long, I won't be shaken by drought or storm
A peace that passes understanding is my song
And I sing my hope is in You, Lord

I wait for You and my soul finds rest
In my selfishness, You show me grace
I worship You and my heart cries "Glory
Hallelujah, Father, You're here!"

My hope is in You, Lord
All the day long I won't be shaken by drought or storm
A peace that passes understanding is my song
And I sing my hope is in You, Lord

I will wait on You
You are my refuge
I will wait on You
You are my refuge

My hope is in You, Lord, all the day long
I won't be shaken by drought or storm
My hope is in You, Lord
All the day long I won't be shaken by drought or storm

A peace that passes understanding is my song
And I sing my hope is in You, Lord
My hope is in You, Lord, yeah
My hope is in You, Lord
